DIY Melted beads

There are so many great DIY Projects out there.
I came across this today on The 36th Avenue Blog
I have never seen or heard of melting beads.  It looks easy, but sounds like a project for Spring when we can open the windows.  But I am looking forward to trying this.
Has anyone ever tried this project?  Did it work?

Weekend Projects

Does anyone have plans to craft this weekend?
I picked up a few bag of stuffing this week.
And someone graciously donated socks.
So I'm planning on making these with my boys this weekend.

DIY Projects- Bows

I posted about these super easy DIY bows a while back.
Last week I made my own.  And they are super easy!
I had felt sitting in my closet.  And I had found the red ribbon a while back for .30 cents a meter.  And knew it would come in handy some time.  The glittery purple I found at Fabric land.  3 meters for $1.39. And I couldn't pass it up.  The all felt bows are super easy and fast.  The ones with ribbon were a bit harder, only because I sewed the ribbon on and it was quite thick.  I added bobby pins.  And I think they'll be a cute addition to my boxes.

I also made my own version of Crayon Wallets.  Which I'll post in the next few days.
And this afternoon I cut out fabric for pencil cases.  Now to sew them.

Anyone else working on OCC projects these days?

Pinterest

Anyone loving Pinterest these days?  I definetly have to limit my time on there;)
But I just saw that Operation Christmas Child is on Pinterest!    They have different boards with Distribution Pictures, The Greatest Journey Pictures, Shoe Box Ideas and a few other boards.

I just saw this great idea.  Add some fun to flip flops by double knotting 10 waterballoon to each sandal.  Love how bright and cheery they are!

Sew a simple skit!

Chantalle Falk posted this on fb. It's an great project.
Sewing simple little skirts out of bandanas is too much fun!
1 bandana for the front, 1 for the back, sew up the side seams, create a casing for elastic, add elastic and you are done! No hemming or finishing of seams required!

Thanks Chantalle!

DIY projects- headband and finger puppets.

This weekend I went to a womens retreat.  One of the activities was this cute headband we made.  Right away I knew I was going to add it to my box.  I imagine a girl, never having received anything beautiful in her life. Opening it and touching it ever so carefully.
All you need is a piece of lace a little longer than your head, so that you are able to tie it.
I threaded a smaller peace of ribbon thru the small openings.
The flower made up of small hearts.
Fold your fabric or organza in an accordian and then cut one heart.
Place your hearts overlapping in the shape of a flower.  Stitch together.
Add a button or pearls to the middle.
We added feathers for a fun effect.

Operation Christmas Child Crafting Corner Blog has a lot of great DIY ideas!

Clip With  A Purpose posted these cute finger puppets yesterday.
You could get your kids to help make their faces.  Your kids would have fun making them and the children receiving them would have fun playing with them.  A double blessing.
