Fields Liquidation

I heard a while ago that all Fields Stores were closing down.  This past weekend we went to a neighbouring community with a Fields, and saw that the liquidation has started.

It's a great time to stock up on shoe box items.  Some of the best buys I found were...
tape-.13 cents (be careful which ones you pick up the one brand is .75 cents each)
Easter stickers .13 cents
boys and girls underwear 3 pack for $1.50
6 pack of socks $3.00
hot wheels cars .88 cents
hair accessories .88 cents
greeting  cards 10 for $2.00
batteries .50 cents

Everything is marked down. It is a little confusing because it is different percentages from item to item.  But they were very helpful, and they did a lot of price checks for me;)

Has anyone else found some good buy?
I'm hoping their shoes go on a more of a clearance yet.

Friday Favorites- Underwear.

Why not add underwear to your boxes!

Underwear was a luxury that I did not have well into my teenage years!  And even when I eventually got my first pair they were boys underwear.  Rather embarassing thing to write about, but I wanted you to know that so many blessings await in those packages.  Every "necessity" here I now take for granted once was a luxury I could only dream about.  I would be beyond blessed if someone had given me a pair of underwear.

I simple thing like underwear, is a blessing. 

Friday Favorites - Shoes

After seeing this picture. 

I am even more convinced about adding shoes to boxes.

In my church I put out a footwear challenge. Challenging everyone in our congregation to purchase a pair of footwear. So if you have 5 people in your family, you would purchase 5 pairs of footwear. If everyone in our congregation steps up and does the challenge, everyone of our shoe boxes we pack this year, will contain a pair of footwear!  

A pair of shoes, sandals, flip flops,can often be the difference between being able to attend school or not. Shoes are a luxury in a lot of countries.

My sister was telling me that often people share a pair of shoes. They each get one shoe and then they hop around on that foot.  That sounds very tiring to me.  Imagine sharing your only pair of shoes!

Now is the time to buy sandals and flip flops.  

They are inexpensive and can help improve the quality of life for a child.

Garage Sale Time!

Garage Sales have started up again. 

It is so fun to go out and see what you'll find!

There were 3 right beside each other today.

I picked up 8 bars of soap and Ardene's pony tail holdes all for .50 cents.

Picked up a few games, bag of balloons and a great red clown nose!

Thought this cute Hawaiian shirt would look cute on a boy.

And praying the aqua shoes will go to a boy who lives near water.

For .50 cents I couldn't leave them there.

Don't forget to check the "Free" box that garage sales often have.

Today I came home with all these balls for free!

I was excited that I found more for boys again today!
